2024 Political Cycle Role – Senior Associate Video Editor / Motion Designer

We are looking for new team members with a passion for progressive politics to join our electoral team this cycle. We are working with some of the largest persuasion, voter registration and GOTV clients of the cycle. A majority of this position’s time will be assigned to those electoral accounts, but the remainder will be allocated to support our other non-profit, advocacy, and retail clients through our collective sprint during the election.

This is a temporary position through November 30, 2024 and includes outplacement assistance. Cycle-hire employees who are interested will have the opportunity to apply for a limited number of permanent positions at the conclusion of this role.

Responsibilities

This person will help create short- to mid-length (< 60-sec) videos as part of our post-production workflows, as well as design other creative for digital and traditional advertising campaigns for our progressive political and responsible corporate clients. Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Have a great attitude, a willingness to learn, and to work hard
  • Collaborate with the creative and strategy teams to brainstorm, conceptualize, and execute impactful, client-ready advertising creative, often on tight deadlines
  • Work on most phases of the video production workflow from style frames and storyboards, curating selects and stringouts from raw footage, to rough and final cuts
  • Assist in the day-to-day organization, logging, and media management of new content
  • Design motion graphics including kinetic typography, animation, and data visualizations
  • Translate scripts/storyboards/creative direction into engaging, effective motion and audio
  • Generally, assist the creative team in creating assets for digital and traditional advertising campaigns

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of motion design and video editing experience, preferably at an agency
  • Familiarity with current 2D motion design principles, trends, and best practices
  • Ability to provide and receive feedback in a positive and constructive manner
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (especially After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
  • Familiarity with the post-production video workflow, including content sourcing, organization, editing, sound mixing, and delivery
  • Experience working with both raw footage and stock
  • Strong sense of timing, typography, and color
  • Experience working independently or with a team on multiple competing tasks and demands in a fast-paced environment

Compensation + Benefits

  • Salary: $5,400-$5,750 per month
  • +$7,500 election bonus paid at end of cycle
  • +End-of-cycle performance bonus (based on company and individual performance).
