We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to serve as a liaison between our outsourced accounting group, our ad buyers, and our operations and management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting background with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience. Previous agency- or media-related experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • MEDIA RECONCILIATION: Perform media buy reconciliations and manage the accounting work related to media buying activities. This includes:
    • At a granular level, coordinate each individual advertising account lead on their media plans, invoicing and ad spending, including staying on top of AR and AP for these media buys.
    • Design and implement media spend reconciliation systems that control measures to reduce errors, overspends, and forgotten invoices.
    • At an aggregate level, assist in the improvement of media planning and reconciliation processes and cash flow forecasting for leadership.
  • PROJECT ACCOUNTING: Collaborate with project/account leads and operations/management team to provide financial insights and analysis on project-level financial data. This includes:

    • At an aggregate level, run analyses and provide insight on actual performance vs. forecast/budget project/client-level profitability to leadership, and provide recommendations for informed decision-making.
    • Drive process improvements and efficiency in project financial management, continually seeking opportunities to optimize revenue recognition and gross margins. This includes identifying and implementing best practices in project accounting and financial control to enhance overall project profitability.
  • MEDIA BOOKKEEPING OVERSIGHT & TAX SUPPORT: Act as the main point of contact between our outsourced accounting firm and our internal teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration, especially:
